The road to an energy smart home begins with an energy audit. An Energy Efficiency
Audit can be a simple “clipboard audit,” a comprehensive audit that utilizes sophisticated
diagnostic equipment or something in between the two.
First, we will come out to your house and do an inspection of all of the major energy
consumption components. Then, we will give you an energy management plan, listing
the recommended measures and itemized prices. Finally, we give you the projected
savings that the energy improvements will provide.
Free Clip Board
Audit: Affordable Comfort will come out to your home and do a free home
energy audit. This is a 25-point checklist that covers the major components of energy
consumption. $0.00
BPI Accredited
Audit: This is a comprehensive check of the entire house. Affordable
Comfort is a BPI (Building Performance Institute) accredited company. This audit
includes sophisticated diagnostic testing to determine the overall performance of
the home as it relates to energy usage. We use a
Minneapolis Blower door to test the infiltration rate. We
also test the combustion appliances for efficiency and safety, including the furnace,
stove and water-heater.

will be no charge for the audit.
Full Service Energy
Audit: This is our most comprehensive audit. This audit includes the
BPI audit and so much more. We
employ sophisticated diagnostic testing to determine the overall performance of
the home as it relates to energy usage. We test the combustion appliances for efficiency
and safety including the furnace, stove and water-heater. We will utilize a
Flir Thermal Image Camera to help identify all problem areas.
We will also build a computer model of the house using
REM DESIGN software. This program will be used to project
the savings you will see from the proposed solutions. You will get a full report
that includes the audit's findings and proposed energy improvements as well as projected
savings.

Home Energy Score The Home Energy Score is similar
to a vehicle's mile-per-gallon rating. The Home Energy Score allows homeowners to
compare the energy performance of their homes to other homes nationwide. It also
provides homeowners with suggestions for improving the efficiency of their homes.
